Compare repiping estimates by scope
Two quotes can cover very different work. Check the proposed pipe material, which fixture connections are included and how abandoned lines will be handled. Ask whether valves, access openings and finish restoration appear in the estimate. A lower total is difficult to evaluate if important parts of the project are missing.
Plan the route through an occupied home
A piping project can affect closets, cabinetry and several bathrooms. Identify rooms that must remain usable, furniture that limits access and any previous additions. Discuss the expected interruption sequence rather than assuming water will remain available throughout the work. The actual route needs an assessment of the house.
Keep community approval separate from the plumbing scope
If your Estero association has contractor-entry or work-hour requirements, obtain the current instructions for your property. An association’s approval does not describe the installation itself. Keep the written plumbing scope, community requirements and responsibility for restoration together when comparing proposals.
