At a glance
Get ahead of busy season with a planned plumbing visit. Start with recurring drain problems, leaks, hot-water performance and any backflow test notice, then agree on priorities and a service window.
Make plumbing part of your preseason walkthrough
Before reservations and service hours ramp up, walk through the kitchen, restrooms and accessible plumbing areas with your manager. List slow drains, recurring clogs, dripping faucets, running toilets and inconsistent hot water. Share last season's trouble spots and previous repair records with Florida Standard Plumbing so we can discuss a service scope around your restaurant's needs.
Drain cleaning and hydro jetting for recurring buildup
If a sink or floor drain repeatedly slows down, arrange an assessment before it interrupts a busy shift. Our drain and sewer services include drain cleaning, camera inspections and hydro jetting where appropriate. Hydro jetting uses pressurized water to clear buildup; the right approach depends on pipe condition and access. Ask whether inspection is needed first and whether the findings point to cleaning or a repair. Coordinate grease-interceptor maintenance separately with your existing provider; drain cleaning does not replace it.
Repair leaks and unreliable fixtures
A leaking supply connection, dripping faucet or running restroom toilet is easier to plan around before the dining room fills up. Bring a list of affected fixtures and explain any changes in pressure or recurring leaks. We can assess plumbing repairs and discuss replacement where appropriate, including access and any water interruption needed for the work.
Review hot-water performance before demand increases
Tell us if hot water runs out during service, recovery has slowed or the water heater has needed repeated repairs. Share the equipment model, service history and how kitchen and restroom demand overlap. We can assess the heater and discuss repair or replacement based on the findings. If you are adding seats or equipment, raise that during planning so the changed demand can be considered before choosing equipment.
Check backflow notices and service records
Find any backflow test notice and the records for your property's assembly. Florida Standard Plumbing offers backflow testing and can discuss repair or installation needs. Share the notice, due date and assembly location when requesting service, and clarify whether your landlord or restaurant handles the appointment. Testing requirements depend on the property and water provider; use the actual notice to plan the work.
Schedule around prep, service and closing
Tell us when the kitchen starts prep, when deliveries arrive and which periods could accommodate a water interruption. Confirm access to shutoffs, restrooms and equipment areas. Our team can discuss availability and the work involved before you commit to a service window. An online request is a starting point, not a confirmed appointment or a promise of after-hours service.
Agree on priorities and follow-up
Ask for a clear distinction between the repairs recommended now, further investigation and optional improvements. Keep the completed-work notes and any follow-up recommendations where the next manager can find them. A preseason visit can address known concerns, but it does not guarantee that every concealed issue will be found or that a future breakdown cannot occur.
Your restaurant's preseason plumbing checklist
- List slow drains, recurring backups and previous cleaning or inspection findings.
- Record leaking faucets, running toilets and visible supply-line leaks.
- Share water-heater model information and hot-water issues during peak service.
- Locate any backflow test notice and confirm who is responsible for scheduling.
- Coordinate grease-interceptor maintenance with the responsible provider.
- Confirm landlord approvals, equipment access and a suitable work window.
- Name a manager who can approve work and receive the completed-service notes.
Let’s take care of it.
